10 Rarely Used WWE Moves That Always Get A Pop

9. Muscle Buster (Samoa Joe)

During his run in NXT, one of the most feared elements of Samoa Joe's offense was his powerful Muscle Buster, dumping opponents on the back of their neck. The move was well-known to fans as his finisher during his days in TNA and on the independent circuit, which he carried over to his time in WWE's developmental territory.

Joe used the movie often to finish off opponents in the early part of his NXT career, but he has seldom pulled it out of the bag on the main roster. He now prefers to use the Coquina Clutch chokehold as his main finishing move. It's possible this decision has its roots in the accident that saw Tyson Kidd left with life-threatening neck injuries after taking the Muscle Buster during a dark match in June 2015.

Partly as a result of that horrible freak accident, the Muscle Buster has become a less prominent part of Joe's arsenal. The real-life controversy surrounding the move, however, does mean that there's a special frisson of excitement and tension whenever he hoists an opponent up into that position.
