10 Rarely Used WWE Moves That Always Get A Pop
3. Phoenix Splash (Seth Rollins)
There aren't many wrestlers in WWE that have a 'super finisher' they can pull out of their back pocket when everything else has proved insufficient to secure the win. Seth Rollins, however, has the Phoenix Splash. It's one of the most impressive high-flying moves in the company and is utterly devastating on the rare occasions when it is used successfully.
The Phoenix Splash has all of the ingredients necessary to get fan reaction. It has a recognisable setup that is different from anything else Rollins has in his arsenal, with a build-up long enough to build tension, and an execution that is elaborate and thrilling to watch. The fact Rollins can use the move when he's deep into one of his trademark 'iron man' performances makes it all the more impressive.
Rollins debuted the move in his triple threat contest against John Cena and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble 2015. He often misses the mark, but there's no doubting how exciting it is when he connects, as he did against Triple H at WrestleMania 33.
