10 Ravishing Rick Rude WWE Hall Of Fame Moments

6. SummerSlam 1989

Having taken the title from the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 5 (more on that later), Rude gave Warrior his greatest ever match up to that point when the two clashed at SummerSlam '89.

Just going over 15 minutes was a rarity in Warrior matches, but Rude was credited with crafting an absolutely sensational contest with the limited challenger.

Visually, it was a match that defined Vince McMahon's colourful reinvention of professional wrestling, with two inflated and chiseled physiques adorned with neon attire and equal parts power and pace.

Warrior's strength contrasted with Rude's precision, but the dynamic form they'd exhibited shades of in the WrestleMania clash (and endless house show run-throughs for the Warrior) paid dividends as the drama ramped up despite Rude never taking a sustained period of offence on the indestructible challenger.

The finish came in a brief moment of respite for Rude, as he posed while Warrior lay prone after two piledrivers and a fistdrop.

Distracted by Rowdy Roddy Piper making a nuisance of himself on the outside, Ravishing Rick obnoxiously swivelled his hips at the 'Hot Scot', but when Piper mooned him in response, his shock left him open to a Warrior german suplex and press slam.

Minutes later, Ultimate Warrior celebrated his second Intercontinental Title to a thunderous response.
