10 Raw Moments WWE Wants You To Forget
7. The Anonymous GM
All those wrestling purists outraged that celebrity "guest hosts" were given screen time instead of talented WWE technicians really ought to have been careful what they wished for.
Seeing Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in the Raw driving seat sucked, but at least it only lasted a couple of hours. The anonymous GM angle, on the other hand, went on for what seemed like years (actually, come to think of it, it really did go on for well over a year).
The worst part came when they finally decided to reveal who was pulling Michael Cole's strings. To the dismay of everyone in the arena - along with just about everyone, Finlay excepted, watching at home - it turned out that Hornswoggle had been directing traffic from underneath the ring all along.
What that suggests to us, apart from the fact that Vince McMahon thinks leprechauns are absolutely hysterical, is that the creative team probably conceived of the storyline without having any idea how it would resolve itself - and simply came up with this as a last-minute shock-jock climax.
