One of the most welcome side effects of the decision to do away with Monday Night Raw's TV-14 rating is that angles like this one are rejected at WWE creative meetings before they ever come into contact with human eyes.

For the uninitiated, Val Venis was already embroiled in a heated feud with Kaientai - a trio of Japanese wrestlers in an era when Japanese wrestlers were exclusively angry and anti-American - when he exacerbated things by sleeping with their manager's wife, on camera.

By way of punishment, they kidnapped the future two-time Intercontinental Champion and proceeded to lop his member off with a sword. At least, that's what the brief backstage segment we watched appeared to insinuate; in actual fact, the following week Venis was back on our screens still horny as ever, claiming that "shinkage" spared him the chop.

There are good reasons that this footage probably won't feature in any "best of" compilations at this month's 25th anniversary special. It was stupid, gratuitous, and perhaps a little racist to boot, all of the things that modern-day WWE stands against (except stupidity, obviously).
