2. Hulk Hogan Vs. Bret Hart

Austin wasn't the only one whose heat with Hulk Hogan prohibited a dream match, as Bret 'Hitman' Hart first opposed the 'Hulkster' back in 1993 and, according to several sources, was supposed to wrestle Hogan at SummerSlam.

In his book, Bret claimed Vince McMahon told him he would be wrestling Hogan for the title at the show. Hart even remembered participating in a WWF Magazine photo shoot promoting the match in which he and Hogan had a tug-of-war with the WWF Championship. A few weeks later, McMahon told Bret that Hulk refused to lose to him because Bret was too small and wasn't in Hogan's league. Instead, Hogan agreed to drop the title to the mammoth Yokozuna at the upcoming King Of The Ring PPV, ending any plans for Bret vs. Hogan at SummerSlam.

Upon hearing this news, Bret confronted Hogan but Hulk denied making such claims. It's possible, if not likely, that Vince was working the boys by saying one thing to Bret and another to Hogan. Still, considering the alleged photo shoot plus WWF television at the time, it's hard to believe that Hogan vs. Bret wasn't penciled in for SummerSlam and it's anyone's guess as to why this program never materialized.
