10 Real Wrestler Names 100% Cooler Than Their Ring Names

1. Dolph Ziggler (Nick Nemeth)

Ricky Steamboat Richard Dick Blood
WWE

"Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler".

Everyone's favourite Dolph Lundgren and Dirk Diggler amalgamation said that loads when he was first introduced by that name in 2008. People laughed when they first heard it, and no wonder. Then, many realised his real name is Nick Nemeth and questions were asked about why WWE didn't run with that.

Licensing, copyright and merchandising would be the answer. Ownership, basically, because Nick Nemeth wasn't something WWE could outright own due to it being birth-given. So, they went wacky and came out with Dolph Ziggler of all things.

Nick Nemeth has alliteration (which is typically pleasing), was different to everybody else on the roster at the time, and the surname is dripping in cool. Nick deserves a medal for taking Dolph freakin' Ziggler all the way from the butt of jokes to a 15-year run and surefire Hall Of Fame status.
