10 Reason WWE Reality Era Is Already Faltering

7. Lack Of Credible Heels

One of the problems Daniel Bryan faced when looking over the landscape of possible opponents after WrestleMania is the fact that the current crop of top level heels is thin. A good babyface champion is only as good as the heels he has to work with. This is why fans have been force fed a prolonged, terrible feud with Kane to begin the title reign. Let's look at who else is out there that could sustain a main event feud as a heel: Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista and that's about it. Bryan has spent the better part of the last 9 months feuding with Triple H, so a feud with him or even the group Evolution doesn't seem to be too appealing. Bringing back Batista can be looked at as a failure at this point, and his refusal to put over Bryan doesn't say much for the possibility of that feud. Orton is in drastic need of a shift in character. We are probably looking at a situation where a new character is going to have to be thrown into the title mix early in order to give Bryan somebody to work with. The Wyatt family seemed to be an obvious choice, but the crowd has taken on a liking to them and turned them into unlikely good guys. Rusev seems like the logical option for Bryan at this point, and that might actually be pretty good as his introduction has went over relatively well. Past the Bulgarian behemoth, unless some major changes are made, the options will surely be limited at best.
