6. They Have Genuine History
You know when WWE will try to create a history between two WWE superstars for the sake of a match? Well, WWE didn't need to exaggerate when documenting the history between Neville and Zayn on NXT TV. As the two men revealed during their appearance on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast last week, they first met in England in 2006. Neville was just starting to get noticed on the British independent scene thanks to a series of sterling performances in various promotions and Zayn was something of a cult hero to fans of PWG and ROH. It was Zayn (and the soon-to-debut in NXT Kevin Steen/Owens) who brought Neville, who was wrestling as PAC, to the United States for PWG. These PWG performances put PAC on the map and Sami likes to joke that he was the one who gave 'The Man That Gravity Forgot' his big break. The two have wrestled each other countless times since and are genuinely best friends. It's one of the main reasons the feud has been such a success: their talk of personal history and friendship is so believable because it is - gasp! - actually true. Fancy that, eh?
