10 Reasons AEW Fans Should Be Worried

8. ROH Commitments

The purchase of Ring Of Honour is exciting for fans of that brand and of AEW, but it doesn’t come without problems. Lacking a home of its own on TV, Tony Khan has taken to accommodating ROH guys like Jonathan Gresham and Dalton Castle on AEW programming. This only adds to the existing problems of an overstuffed roster.

A TV deal for ROH could alleviate the situation and create more opportunities for the roster to shine. If and when that happens, some AEW talent will presumably get shifted across to ROH full time.

At which point, ROH would be helping with one problem but also creating another. With Tony Khan vowing that he will be ROH booker going forward, surely at some point the busy company president is overstretched?

Khan seems to have a similar attitude to downtime as his billionaire rival Vince McMahon. He’s already booking three hours a week, plus PPVs, and has his commitments outside of wrestling on top.

With a whole other promotion to book, don’t be surprised if we see more of Tony’s worst booking excesses and less of the nuance and attention to detail for which AEW is celebrated.
