10 Reasons AEW Is Still The Undisputed Best Wrestling Promotion

5. The Comedy

Funny doesn't draw money, but it's an endearing staple of every undercard.

WWE's approach to comedy used to be unfathomably sh*te, but it's less daft under Triple H. Drastically so: there's barely any light to his output, although Dexter Lumis is meant to inspire dark laughter more than fear. That, or it is terrible. Who formally isn't terrible is Chad Gable: he isn't remotely a disgrace to Kurt Angle, which says enough about his dorky brilliance.

Toru Yano's act is evergreen, but AEW still wins in this category.

Chris Jericho's "'Cause I'm a wizard!" patter is his dumb bullsh*t, perfected. The idea that he's actually stumbled on the ability to cast magic, and isn't just incinerating people, is so wonderfully deluded. JAS stablemate Daddy Magic can enunciate literally any word and make it funny. Orange Cassidy ripping off Will Ospreay's martial arts pose, and turning all of his detractors into the Daily Struggle meme, was borderline genius. Were the old shool d*ckheads allowed to laugh? F*ck 'em: everybody else did. Dr. Britt Baker's sandbag joke was so great that she popped herself before the punchline and still didn't ruin it.

And really, this entire argument can be justified with just three words: Taz on Dark.
