10 Reasons AJ Lee's WWE Retirement Was The Right Call
10. A Relative Lack Of Injuries
There's something to be said for escaping a career in pro wrestling with relatively few, relatively minor injuries. While the women arguably take fewer "bumps" then the men (save for perhaps Lita), the fact remains that pro wrestling is a ridiculously dangerous line of work, and wrestlers have a shockingly high rate of premature death. While it's rare that death is directly related to ring work, it does happen, and indirectly, drug abuse often comes in the form of pain killers to help cope with years of wear and tear. Direct serious injury is much more common: just look at Edge, forced into retirement far before his time. Escaping without any known debilitating injuries, addictions, and at a young age may prove to be very beneficial to Lee, as far as health, happiness, and future plans are concerned.
