8. He Felt Disrespected By Getting Fired On His Wedding Day
One of the more startling facts that Punk reveled on the podcast is that he was actually fired by WWE. He said that he received a package from WWE on the day of his wedding in June. Two days earlier he had some contact with Triple H, but he didn't want to talk to them until after his wedding. WWE must have thought "screw this guy" and decided to fire him on the spot. From WWE's point of view, they could say that he forced them to do that because he's the one that quit in January. They probably could have let his contract expire in July and they would have been done with him that way. Sending him his termination papers on his wedding day was a low blow for sure. Punk is a stubborn guy and if he feels disrespected by somebody or something then he's going to do everything he can to get out of that situation. That's why it's easy to believe him when he says he's never coming back. Firing him when they did was like a personal shot at him. WWE knew what they were doing. Also from WWE's perspective, it's a Public Relations nightmare that this info got out.
