10 Reasons CM Punk's Legal Attack On WWE Was A Mistake

10. WWE's Legal Power

An individual throwing a stone at a global corporation isn't likely to end well. The giant is likely to respond by simply dropping a rock on the lowly entity. Cases like Erin Brockovich bringing down dirty business are few and far between. Punk is the lowly individual in this case. He has a bit of money, but nothing compared to the legal powers WWE can afford. You also have to factor in the political and commercial power WWE possesses, they know the right people and are in a social elite that constantly scratches the other persons back. Punk in contrast has almost no power. He's just some guy who made a bit of money in pro wrestling. WWE will be able to call on their connections and financial resources to ensure that any problems related to CM Punk are nullified. They've got a big history of operating like this, notably through powerhouse lawyer Jerry McDevitt. He's the man who got Vince McMahon and the WWF acquitted in the 1994 government action over steroid distribution. The revered lawyer has also won victories over corporations like USA Network. Can CM Punk seriously expect to outdo the likes of the US Government and win a case over the McMahon empire? Unlikely. Punk might want to enter a legal dispute, but WWE's money and resources won't give the wrestler much chance of victory.
