Floyd Mayweather is demanding $100 million to fight Conor McGregor, because according to Mayweather, that's what he's worth. That's what he makes.

Insert Jennifer Lawrence sarcastically giving the thumbs up here.

Reality and self-promotion don't always mix. What Mayweather actually earned for his last professional fight, against Andre Berto, was a base fee of $36 million dollars. When you consider that, Dana White's offer of $25 million doesn't seem that bad. Especially when you consider the PPV points angle. Mayweather vs. Berto didn't even come close to half a million buys, so while Mayweather would have made money off the PPV, there's a question as to how much.

Mayweather vs. McGregor could easily do two million buys, which could mean tens of millions more for Mayweather. And lets assume $25 million is an opening offer. If the UFC upped it to thirty, with the box office potential, it's hard to imagine Mayweather not being interested, no matter what he claims in public.

On the flip side, if he hasn't wasted his purses from over the years, Mayweather should be set financially. So it might take a little more to lure him back to the ring.
