One person who will not say no to $25 million, and the notoriety of a fight with one of the few marquee names left in boxing, is Conor McGregor.

Consider Mystic Mac a "moneyweight" at this point. He cares more about big fights than defending titles. Big fights are what the public remembers. If you defend your title against a steady stream of lesser knowns, does it do anything for your public image? Does it add millions to your paydays?

No, and Conor McGregor is very, very aware of this. Ergo, he's interested in Mayweather. Because Mayweather will be the fight that gets the media and general public talking, simply because Mayweather is a big name, and it's a battle of two sports.

So make no mistake, McGregor wants this fight to happen. That's why he applied for a boxing license in the state of California recently. Smart move (and a snub of Nevada, who McGregor recently found himself in a dispute with over sanctions from his water-bottle throwing incident with Nate Diaz prior to UFC 202).
