9. Locking Down Network Subscribers
Those who signed up for the WWE Network at its launch will face a tough decision in a few months. They can either lock themselves in for another six months, or decide to cut ties with the WWE and cancel their subscription. The last pay-per-view that will be available for fans that signed up when the WWE Network launched will be SummerSlam, meaning the company will no doubt be trying to make its final pitch for renewal at the event. They have already tried to stagger subscription renewal dates by offering a 12-month subscription plan that unfortunately offers no price break, and keeping the first batch of subscribers on board will be crucial if the company hopes to be successful with the Network. Assuming the storyline is still in the same place three months from now, it seems conceivable to suggest that some fans may choose to pass on renewing their subscription. For this reason, it is likely that there will be major shakeups in the storyline, including a title change.
