3. Sets Up Fresh & Believable WWE Championship Feuds
With John Cena as champion, the WWE now can create many more believable feuds for the title. WWE has been backed into a corner by the way they have built up Brock Lesnar, that other than possibly Randy Orton or Roman Reigns, there aren't many viable opponents for Lesnar. As mentioned earlier, Seth Rollins becomes a fresh new opponent for John Cena, and is always a threat with his Money In The Bank Contract. We can't forget about Daniel Bryan when he returns, as he defeated Cena at the 2013 SummerSlam prior to Cena leaving for elbow surgery. Cena has also proved that he can work a program with Bray Wyatt, this time they could center their feud around the championship. Down the line as Dean Ambrose gets even hotter, their paths may cross as well. The path the WWE may choose to go with could be Cena as the last hope to defeat the undefeated Russian heel Rusev. He and Lana are able to generate a lot of heat each week with the crowd. He's been able to go through American heros like Jack Swagger and Olympian Mark Henry. Even at Survivor Series, Rusev was eliminated by count out, not by pin fall, making sure not to make him look weak. It looks as if the WWE may continue to push Rusev all the way to WrestleMania 31, and have a showdown with John Cena. Brock Lesnar dropping the title to John Cena can open up many new and much more believable feuds for the WWE Championship.
