10 Reasons The Kane That Debuted In 1997 Is Way Cooler Than Today's

4. The Random Violence

There was no Superstar safe from Kane's wrath in 1997. He did not care who he attacked, when he attacked them and had no motive for doing so. It was not uncommon for Flash Funk to be in the ring, preparing for a match with someone such as Lief Cassidy, only for Kane's music to start and the Big Red Monster to stalk towards the ring. Superstars such as Ahmed Johnson, Crush, Dude Love, the Hardy Boyz and the aforementioned Funk all found themselves on the receiving end of a chokeslam and Tombstone from Kane as he tore through the company, determined to convince his brother The Undertaker to face him on-on-one. The beatdowns from Kane created an air of unpredictability that helped make WWE programming destination television. By the time 1998 approached, the random appearances and violence came to an end as the character became more focused on Undertaker and their impending WrestleMania XIV match.
