10 Reasons Macho Man Randy Savage Must Be Inducted To WWE Hall Of Fame 2015
2. The Hall Of Fame Is Not Complete Without Him...
The WWE Hall of Fame is supposedly a place where fans and pros alike can come together and pay tribute to the men and women that shaped the WWE and, to a lesser extent, professional wrestling in general. Put simply, that description just doesnt apply without the presence of Randy savage. Even if he WAS banging the boss daughter, it is still an undeniable fact that Randy Savage was one of the most visible, most influential and most consistent stars of his era. He drew an enormous sum of money for Vince McMahon and he helped put the WWE on the map and make it what it is today. Reputedly, the WWE paid a large sum of money to Bruno Sammartino in order for him to agree to be inducted, mainly because they (rightly) felt that the Hall of Fame was meaningless without the Champion around which the company was originally built. The same logic clearly applies to Randy Savage. Although he wasnt as big a star as Sammartino or Hogan, the Macho Man was a bigger star in his prime than the vast majority of the Halls other inductees. Randy Savage did more than most to ensure that the WWE became the biggest pro wrestling organisation of all time. It is time for Vince McMahon to reciprocate.
I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction.
I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long!
If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it).
I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work.
Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that!
Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?)
