10 Reasons MMA/Wrestling Crossover Trend Is "Best For Business"

8. It Adds Legitimacy To Pro Wrestling

This one might rub pro wrestling fans the wrong way, but face it: non-wrestling fans do not see pro wrestling as legit. It's staged, it's phoney, etc. They won't even go with the more accurate term "choreographed." Yet when Brock Lesnar made the move to MMA and became the UFC heavyweight champion, it helped add legitimacy to pro wrestling, because non-fans were forced to accept that "fake" wrestlers could have real talent, and fight for real. Of course, they tried to excuse that by saying "he had an amateur background" (ignoring that many pro wrestlers do), or by claiming it was because Brock, frankly, was a freak of nature. Okay, fine. So what happens when more and more pro wrestlers succeed in MMA? Their success can only be seen as good for business.
