10 Reasons Nobody Should Believe A Word Hulk Hogan Says
4. He Turned Down The UFC
While the rest of the world were unaware of Hogan's fictitious exploits against Japanese shoot fighters in the 1970s, in 2015 the Hulkster claimed that in fact the MMA world was entirely aware of his reputation as a shooter.
During an interview with the Herald Sun in Australia, Hogan asserted that he was actually offered a chance to fight on one of the early UFC tournaments, during his hiatus from WWE in 1993.
According to Hogan, the fights were too chaotic and he was concerned with fights continuing long after they should be stopped.
Given Hulk's experiences in Japan, where he fought both MMA fighters and was forced to shoot on Tatsumi Fujinami (another tall tale), we can only assume Hogan was afraid the referee wouldn't save his opponent from an ass whooping at his own hands.
When UFC co-founder Campbell McClaren was asked to comment on Hulk's rejection of a spot in UFC, he simply confirmed what everybody was thinking, that Hogan was, predictably, talking s**t.
