10 Reasons NXT TakeOver Events Always Overshadow WWE PPVs
9. Simpler Booking
Although NXT's storylines culminate in a generally more satisfying way, it doesn't necessarily mean they're more complex than their main roster equivalents. In fact, this could actually be part of the reason why they're often superior.
TakeOvers generally tend to feature fewer run-ins and screwy finishes than Raw or SmackDown PPVs - the booking is usually far simpler. Stipulations are also thrown around with less reckless abandon, and even when things do get a little outlandish (such as Paul Ellering in a shark cage), these features thankfully don't overshadow the importance or flow of the matches themselves.
On the other hand, recent main roster pay per views have seen Kevin Owens losing a main event to Goldberg in a matter of seconds (thanks to Jericho's distraction), Bray Wyatt's WrestleMania projector nonsense, and - worst of all - the House of Horrors match.
TakeOver specials rely far less on bells and whistles, and (despite Vince McMahon's probable wishes) are focused far more on wrestling than sports entertainment.
