10 Reasons NXT TakeOver Events Always Overshadow WWE PPVs

7. A More Diverse Roster

Another advantage of NXT taking most of their talent straight from the independent scene (without spending too much time in the Performance Centre) is that shows are filled with a diverse array of styles. Last week, for example, we saw the strong style of Asuka, the ROH moveset-mastery of Roderick Strong, the UK indie workrate of Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, and the main-event showmanship of Bobby Roode.

In contrast, main roster pay per views can often feel rather samey. Yes, some exceptional performers such as AJ Styles and Kevin Owens are able to cater to WWE's demands without overly-compromising their own styles, but this is a hard balance to achieve and many are toned down as a result. Just look at the majority of the cruiserweight division, for a particularly disappointing example (given the exciting action of last year's CWC).
