Many NXT stars have been called up to the main roster, only to lose much of their lustre after a few months. Wrestlers such as Apollo Crews, Enzo and Cass, and arguably Bayley have found themselves normalised - especially compared to the reactions they'd garner at TakeOver events.

The reason for this? Overexposure.

WWE's main roster produce so much wrestling content these days, it's often overwhelming. Raw lasts three hours; SmackDown lasts two - not to mention multiple PPVs a month.

NXT TakeOver specials come around every few months, and this seems to be the perfect amount of time. Stars don't risk being overexposed, even if that fate may sadly befall a sizeable chunk when they move up.
