10 Reasons Randy Orton Is Still Missing From WWE

2. WWE May Have Been Put Off By The Batista Debacle

Last year Batista, a wrestler that returned to the ring after a stint away acting, was roundly booed out of arenas all around the world. The Animal was brought back for one last run as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but those plans were scrapped after the powers that be saw the way the WWE Universe was reacting to their booking decisions and went with Daniel Bryan instead. Now, it must be noted that Randy Orton's acting career is no where near as big as Batista's. Randy is still considered a fully fledged member of the active WWE roster while Batista was seen as an actor returning to the WWE ring. Their perception in the eyes of the WWE Universe will be completely different. However, the treatment Batista received just 12 months ago will be fresh in the mind of WWE's hierarchy and could be to the detriment of Orton. They won't want history repeating itself which will obviously narrow the options they can explore with Randy. This will mean that a slot in the main event picture won't be made available for the Viper, which he obviously won't like. Having been portrayed as the face of the WWE for a long period before this hiatus, you would think Orton would settle for very little else on his return.
