Few people would be willing to really put their money on an AJ Styles victory at Payback. Roman Reigns must be considered the favourite, he's only held the WWE Title since WrestleMania and the company have seemed determined to turn him into their top man for years now.

That's exactly why an AJ win would be so shocking.

On Raw, Reigns referenced AJ's work in other companies around the world. It's rare for WWE to acknowledge this, they usually hit the reset button when a performer enters their bubble.

Nobody would be expecting the former TNA, ROH and New Japan star to win WWE's big one, especially at the expense of their poster boy.

Swerves should be used sparingly in wrestling, but this represents the ideal opportunity to pull a fast one on everybody. All of the aforementioned points in this article make it clear that AJ Styles would be a fine champion, and that Roman Reigns should lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on WWE's next pay-per-view.
