It's been stunning to see the rise of AJ Styles in the WWE system since he made his debut back at the Royal Rumble. Since January, Styles has regularly been a highlight of programming. His matches are awesome, his promos solid and he's obviously popular with fans.

There's a good chance that Styles has surprised some within WWE with that popularity. He has enhanced the roster, and it's nice to see his hard work being rewarded with such a feature bout.

If he loses to Roman Reigns, however, he'll probably slink back down the ladder, moving away from the main event picture for the time being.

A win would validate his main event status. If AJ was penned to defeat Reigns and become the WWE Champion, he'd gain a permanent ticket to the headline mix. That's something worthwhile pondering for WWE, because AJ's rise hasn't been an accident.

He's been wonderful since finally making the jump to the company, and that warrants a reward.
