When Seth Rollins went out injured, WWE had to find a substitute that could pick up where the heel champion had left off. Out of everyone on the roster, Sheamus was that man. He's got the Triple H connection, he's got the promos, he's got ring ability, and most importantly of all, he's a genuinely hated heel. Like Rollins, he's also effective at playing the cowardly champion. Even the way he won the belt, it was almost a straight reboot of Rollins' cash in. Reigns was once again done over by a heel taking a short cut. In keeping course with the same type of champion, Sheamus as a sub for Rollins was a logical step.
