10 Reasons Spike TV Will Cancel TNA Impact Wrestling
4. Poor Promotion
One of the most glaring deficiencies in TNA's operation is their utter lack of promotion. For a company of that size, there is no excuse for having such pitiful brand awareness. The visibility of TNA should be much greater than it is, yet there are a shocking number of people who consider themselves wrestling fans that have no idea the promotion even exists. Rob Van Dam and other talents have spoken about how, during their time in TNA they would run into fans who had followed them in WWE and now just assumed they were out of the business entirely, completely unaware that they've been wrestling on television weekly on another channel. One of the big benefits to bringing in Hulk Hogan was supposed to be his value in promoting the brand. The only problem with that is that he never actually promoted the brand. The Hulkster did zero to increase awareness of TNA during any of his outside ventures while he was under contract, content to show up, add nothing to the product but some awful matches he shouldn't have been having, shove his daughter down our throats and collect a paycheck. He wasn't any kind of promotional asset, and that's the entire reason why a wrestling company brings in a Hulk Hogan at his age. We also read constant reports online of fans who have TNA live events in their towns and not even knowing they're happening. Maybe part of the reason their recent shows have had such putrid attendance is because no one actually knows there is a show to begin with. It's a staggering level of incompetence that should honestly be their number one priority, but I guess that money and effort was better spent on Brooke Hogan and Garrett Bischoff.
