10 Reasons Spike TV Will Cancel TNA Impact Wrestling
5. There Are Cheaper Alternatives With Comparable Ratings
If you've followed the saga of Total Nonstop Action closely, you're no doubt aware of the fact that reruns of Cops, a 25 year-old reality series depicting drunks being arrested for...being drunk, draws nearly the exact same ratings as Impact, which s obviously much more expensive to produce and promote. If you're Spike, or any sensible business looking to make money, what is the motivation to offer a new television contract to a show that offers such a little return on investment? The contrarians will argue that it's one of Spike's highest rated shows, and while that may be true, an episode of Impact is a far more involved financial undertaking than an episode of Bar Rescue or Ink Master. It's just common sense and good business acumen to go with the biggest ROI, and unfortunately for us fans TNA isn't it.
