10 Reasons Why Sting Is Hesitant To Join WWE

9. He Wants To Be Able To Book His Own Appearances

When you sign a WWE contract, they own you. They take care of your bookings unless you're somebody like Jerry Lawler, who is able to work shows on the weekends. It's unlikely that Sting would wrestle on the indies, but he can make good money making appearances and signing autographs for fans. He was at the Wrestlecon event in New Orleans for WrestleMania weekend and he was reportedly charging $100 for an autograph and photo. I was working at the event at the table right beside him and his line didn't stop for four hours. He made huge money that day just for showing up to the event and he made even more thanks to all of those purchases. Sting doesn't do a lot of appearances, but a there are many former pro wrestlers that do very well on weekends at wrestling shows, Comic Cons and things of that nature. He may not feel comfortable with WWE "owning" him because it would prevent him from doing things that he wants to do.
