10 Reasons Sting Vs The Undertaker Is No Longer A WWE Dream Match
7. The Audience Has Lost Interest
When it comes down to it, the audience interest just isn't there for Sting and The Undertaker. At least not like it used to be. The older fans have either stopped watching or moved on to interest in new wrestlers. Many of Sting's WCW fanbase simply stopped watching wrestling when that company went down in 2001. Others in that fixed southern fanbase switched to TNA. For traditional reasons, old school southern fans just don't want to engage with WWE. The fans who did want Taker and Sting have forgotten about it somewhat. Acts like Brock Lesnar have overshadowed it. Dream matches now revolve more around the current acts. Taker and Sting are supporting acts, the likes of Lesnar or Rock are the certified main event acts. That's what more of the audience are looking towards. As for all the kids, it is debatable if they've got any interest at all in seeing Sting against Taker. So many of WWE's under eighteen audience won't even be able to remember watching WCW.
