10 Reasons Sting's WWE Debut Was Awful

7. It€™s An Obvious Push For Network Subscribers

With every announcement of the total number of WWE Network subscribers, WWE gets more and more panicked. The first time, they had mass layoffs. Then they began to push the price point of the Network rather than the content by coming up with the €œ$9.99€ slogan. Fans changed it, but they weren€™t willing to pay it. Then they got rid of the six-month commitment and offered the entire month of November (including Survivor Series) free to new subscribers. It€™s obvious that Sting€™s appearance at Survivor Series was an attempt to get the people who watched Survivor Series for free to pony up the dough for the Network. But it was just another futile attempt. Fans know how good of a deal the Network is; they€™re just not willing to pay for it. If pushing the price point and offering a free month wasn€™t going to drive up Network numbers, what good would bringing in Sting do?
