10 Reasons The PG Era Isn't So Bad

4. The In-Ring Action Is Still Pretty Damn Solid

This may be a hard pill to swallow for fans who used to tune in to watch The Rock and Austin battle it out on a regular basis and who still remember the sound Shane McMahon's head made when it bounced off the concrete at King of the Ring 2001, but the in-ring product of the PG Era was, on the whole, the best it had been since The New Generation era.

If you're a fan of the skilled, mercenary-like tactician, they have superstars who do that. If you're a fan of high-flying daredevils, they have superstars who do that.

And if you're a fan of beefy brawlers who run roughshod over their competition a la Bill Goldberg, they still have superstars who do that (so long as you feed them).

Again, the matches can be far from perfect, but the technical execution from everyone on the roster is leagues above where it was in the late 90s.

No, it's not quite as good as it was during the Ruthless Aggression Era, and you're unlikely to see a match like the Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart 60-Minute Iron Man Match in today's landscape, but the matches overall will hold up much better than the typical Attitude Era bout.
