10 Reasons To Be Excited About Wrestle Kingdom 11
3. Double Main Event
In 2014 NJPW held a fan vote to determine which of the top two match-ups, Okada/Naito and Tanahashi/Nakamura, was the most popular and would take the honour of main-eventing the Tokyo Dome. It didn't matter that Okada was World Champion, Tanahashi was still the ACE and Okada and Naito were both seen as upstarts who didn't deserve to go on last, thus Tana and Naka battled for the IC strap.
All of that has changed in the past three years and New Japan now have four men at the top of the card that everyone believes should be there. A fan vote was held and Okada/Omega winning out did not mean Tanahashi has slipped or Naito isn't over, merely that Okada and Omega had won the respect of the Japanese fans to the point where they needed to have this crowning moment.
While Okada and Omega has gained more international hype, Tanahashi is still Japan's John Cena and Naito is the bad boy everyone loves. A clash between these two would main event any other NJPW PPV, meaning that at Wrestle Kingdom 11 we're essentially going to be treated to two exceptional main events.
