10 Reasons To Be Excited About WrestleMania 33

There was a time in WWE when women's wrestling was not highly thought of by Vince McMahon.

There used to be pillow fights, underwear matches and Jerry Lawler had a tendency to shout "PUPPIES!" whenever a female wrestler appeared. Then there was that time at WrestleMania 25 when Santino Marella, dressed up in drag, won a women's Battle Royal which earned him the title of 'Miss WrestleMania'. Oh dear.

We've come along way since then, with the Royal Rumble this year being a case in point. Apart from the Rumble match itself, there was just as many women competing in matches as there was men. With the rise of the Four Horsewomen from NXT to the main roster, there has probably never been a better time for female wrestlers and at WM33, this fact will surely be hammered down.

We're expecting to see some strong matches at the event and the much-rumoured Sasha Banks vs Bayley bout has the potential to steal the whole damn show. And, with a women's WrestleMania moment like that, we can truly banish the memory of Santina Marella from our memories forever.
