10. Lack Of Competition Will Finally Catch Up To WWE
Not since World Championship Wrestling bit the dust have WWE had true wrestling competition. Vince McMahon likes to regularly state that every show on television is competition for the company, but the fact remains that there's nothing to really drive the promotion on each week. TNA was woefully ill-equipped to challenge the McMahon crown when it briefly tried in 2010. That was short-lived, and nobody has even attempted it ever since. By going live each Monday and signing ex-WWE stars like Mick Foley, Hulk Hogan and others, TNA felt it could eat into the WWE stronghold. That didn't happen, Vince McMahon barely even flinched at what TNA had to throw at him. However, should he have been wishing they were more successful? A strong wrestling business should be considered a good thing for WWE. It's unlikely they will ever be supplanted as the top product, but they should be mindful of sagging ratings. Those numbers are lowering alarmingly as the calendar races towards the end of 2015. By next year, they could reach embarrassing depths, without a sound strategy to tackle it.
