The post-Wrestlemania crowd basically controlled the mood of Divas Champion AJ Lee's segment, chanting her then-boyfriend now-husband's name in unison for what felt like an eternity. Lee is an amazing talent in an awful women's division as of late, with most of her competition not being fit to even polish her shoes. The fact that Lee was still prominent in the company in the wake of Punk's departure was really tough on the New Jersey native, with dirtsheets even reporting that she lost the title to Paige purely as punishment for her involvement with Punk. While these rumours might be false (based on the fact that Lee has now regained the title), the timing was certainly a coincidence, and Lee's extended time off was surely in part to let the 'CM PUNK!' chants die down. With Punk and Lee officially tying the knot in June (Friday the 13th, of course), perhaps relations between WWE and the couple have eased, purely because of Lee's continued employment. But with the AJ Lee character portraying many of the same qualities as that of the CM Punk persona (arrogance, self-belief, even the use of 'pipe-bombs'), she's bound to get a lot of comparisons to her husband, and with the way things panned out with his own career, that isn't a particularly good thing. If Punk did return, Lee's part in the whole drama would immediately void any storyline she had going on, and instead focus entirely on him. And if there's one thing the Divas division desperately needs right now, it's AJ Lee.
