Despite being a heel, Triple H wants adoration, he's actively encouraged the perception that he's the saviour of WWE with his NXT project and general smark baiting moves on social media. Which brings us to his Royal Rumble win, in which he dumped Reigns over the top rope and did a crotch chop, much to the delight of the crowd. He was looking for those cheers. Call it a conspiracy theory if you want, but he never had any intentions of his Rumble win helping Reigns' babyface push. It was more about getting in on some glory for himself. Why do the crotch chop, a blatant fan baiting move which was guaranteed to get cheers? Triple H has form for this, he wants to be viewed as the cool guy, he wants to be seen as the worker against the phoney. It was the exact same thing when he wrestled John Cena at WrestleMania 22. Cena went over in that match, but it was Triple H who really got over and made to look like the talent of the piece. The same is true of what's going on right now with Roman Reigns, Triple H is working his own agenda and strengthening his own image, while making it look like it is about The Big Dog.
