$$$. Why else? Lets face it: UFC buyrates are down. Their deal with FOX is solid, but the ratings aren't really where they should be on a consistent basis. They're far from being cancelled, but the UFC needs stars who can make money. Sonnen could, and he's gone. Wanderlei Silva is gone. GSP is gone. BJ Penn is gone, Matt Hughes, Rampage Jackson (to Bellator), Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz (also to Bellator). All gone. Anderson Silva should be back, but for how long? Jon Jones has killed his potential growth with fans by having a terrible attitude. Ronda Rousey is hot, but looking to Hollywood. It's hard for the UFC to hold on to their stars, and if Lesnar does come back, what it will really come down to is: money. The UFC wants to make it, and they might just be able to lure Lesnar away from the WWE for a fight or two. Just don't hold your breath.
