10 Reasons You Should Watch Lucha Underground

9. The Presence Of Konnan As A Lucha Legend

http://youtu.be/b1XXDtu8tsk Konnan is a familiar face to American wrestling and not because he was Max Moon in WWE. He made a mark in WCW as a solid midcarder that had a memorable in-ring intro. Whether he worked as a heel or face, he always managed to get a reaction from the crowd. His run in TNA had some good moments too although it was his WCW work that he is most remembered. The place where Konnan made his mark is in Mexico where he's got a big role in AAA. He brings in talent, he puts together matches, he's part of the booking and he's somebody a lot of the younger wrestlers look up to. Since Konnan can't wrestle anymore due to his age as well as injuries, it's smart to put him in a mentor role for Prince Puma, who was known as Richochet on the indie scene. It will allow Konnan to have a purpose as a manager type that also brings in other talent. The segment with Konnan talking about how good Puma was really went a long way in planting the idea that Puma is a big star in the company. Konnan brings a familiarity to the American wrestling fan and a lot of credibility to Mexican fans. His presence is needed.
