8. Intergender Matches Are Unique
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXqCmxjg5RQ The first episode featured an intergender matchup as its second matchup. If you watch WWE with any regularity then you know that the men never hit the women although the women can certainly hit the men. In Lucha Underground, they had Sexy Star (a masked woman that has wrestled regularly for AAA wrestling) take on Son of Havoc, who Tough Enough viewers might remember as Matt Cross. Their match was short and there wasn't much doubt that Son of Havoc was going to win, but Sexy Star did enough to make people want to see more of her. It will be great to see them build her up to see if she can beat one of the guys. The second episode had a mixed tag match with Sexy Star getting the pin on Lord of Havoc. Star teamed up with Chavo Guerrero (he started out as a babyface) and Havoc teamed with Ivelisse, who really should be in WWE still. They made a mistake in letting her go. Hopefully we get some more intergender matches in the future because it was really cool to watch. The intergender matches is just one of the ways that they're doing things different in Lucha Underground because you're not going to see the women mix it up in WWE. Sexy Star can become one of the most popular stars in the company.
