Just when you think NXT is at the peak of its popularity, it only gets bigger and continues to grow by leaps and bounds. The brand seemingly couldn't get any better after the stellar TakeOver: Brooklyn show in August 2015 with Bayley and Sasha Banks contesting one of the best bouts of the decade. And then this year happened.

Mere weeks into 2016, two new talents arrived in NXT: former TNA World Heavyweight champion Austin Aries as well as former IWGP Intercontinental champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Each of them made their in-ring debuts at NXT TakeOver: Dallas and emerged victorious. Nakamura's match with Sami Zayn in particular was an absolute classic and easily among the greatest matches to take place thus far in 2016.

Even with so many call-ups from NXT to the main roster (and more reportedly to come), the brand has thrived with Nakamura, Aries, Finn Bálor, and Samoa Joe at the helm. The impending arrivals of Bobby Roode and Eric Young have also added to the excitement, proving to fans that they need not worry about the future of NXT and moreover WWE. It's in great hands.
