10 Reasons Why 2022 Is Already Wrestling's Most Insane Year EVER

8. Lita's Saudi Arabian Turnaround

Money talks.

It's really as simple as that, but Lita was once staunchly against the idea of women wrestling in Saudi Arabia. The WWE Hall Of Famer told interviewers years ago that it didn't sit well to see company chiefs happily hide behind "cultural progression" as a reason for staging women's matches in the country.

Then, she changed her mind. The cynical side of many points to boatloads of moolah as the reason for this sudden change of heart. Lita, however, says she spoke to several women who had wrestled in Saudi and that altered her thinking.

Fair enough, but WWE's bloated paydays for these international trips surely had something to do with it too. It's bizarre to think that Lita's first one-on-one match in 10 years (she beat Heath Slater on the 23 July 2012 Raw) is happening somewhere other than WrestleMania, but this is 2022 and...2022 is crazy.
