9. What Does Styles Do Exactly?

Aside from some wonderfully dangerous moves and making white children feel hip by groovin' to his new WWE theme music, what exactly is it that AJ Styles does? Yes, we are well and truly out of the dark days of every wrestler needing a cartoon-like gimmick, but even the modern real-to-life characters have distinct personality traits that characterise them; what does AJ Styles have other than being a good ol' boy born in North Carolina and cuttin' his teeth in Gainesville, Georgia, yeehaw? Aside from his in-ring ability, which means little as far as getting over without some kind of incredible personality traits in the modern age of 'sports entertainment', AJ is kinda dull. While the likes of Roman Reigns, everyone's favourite whipping boy, may also lack charisma on the microphone, he at least makes up for it by being an entertaining physical storyteller. Styles, although only being a handful of weeks into his WWE career, has yet to do anything other than put on some entertaining flippy-dippy matches with Chris Jericho and shatter The Miz's teeth. There needs to be something more to work with.
