10 Reasons Why AJ Styles Won't Meet Fans' Expectations

7. He Couldn't Maintain A Main Event Spot In TNA

Talk all you like about Styles being misused during his 12-year tenure all you like, the fact remains if he can't make it as more than a five-time NWA/TNA World Heavyweight Champion in professional wrestling's D-League equivalent beginning at age 26 - although impressive - he's not winning the WWE Championship starting at age 38. Sure, nobody can sit at the top of the roster for more than a few years at a time without being resented - it happens all the time even in WWE - but Styles was constantly thrown into tag teams and stables throughout his time with TNA. If he can't maintain a main event spot as a singles competitor in TNA, good luck doing so in WWE where the competition is much stiffer! The ol' saying of "a big fish in a small pond" rings true in the case of AJ Styles; while he may have put together an impressive career on paper in TNA, the independents and Japan, it means little in comparison to the goliath that is dubya-dubya-ee.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
