10 Reasons Why Daniel Bryan Belongs On WWE's Mount Rushmore
7. Occupying A March 2014 Episode Of Monday Night Raw
Daniel Bryan brought a gaggle of legitimate WWE fans into the ring to help him occupy the 10 March 2014 edition of Monday Night Raw as part of his WrestleMania XXX storyline with Triple H. They were actual punters. Genuine, ticket-buying punters.
Who else in WWE history - or, rather, professional wrestling history - can say they've done this to such a seismic extent?
This easily could have gone t*ts up. How were WWE to know that one of those fans wasn't going to legitimately start a riot against 'The Game'? Sure, there was one guy who challenged Hunter to a fight, but he was never going to do any real harm. Instead, the most physicality we got out of this was a random lad giving Bryan a hug.
'Mania XXX's angle between Bryan and Trips needed this added boost of intensity and realism to it because, by this stage, the YES! Movement was in full swing.
It wasn't just a catchphrase for Bryan to shove down our throats each week. It was a legitimate movement. Everyone was doing the YES! hand gesture. Not just WWE fans, either; the taunt also made its way to professional baseball, hockey, and basketball leagues, too. This was merely WWE taking advantage of an audience's real admiration for one of their talents.
