10 Reasons Why Impact Wrestling's Latest Reboot Is Destined To Fail

7. Jeff Jarrett's Record Of Failure

Though Jeff Jarrett’s power within Impact Wrestling isn't what it once was, he clearly has significant sway. This is troubling, as aside from a few personal gains, his recent record is one of failure.

Jarrett has never been able to get Global Force Wrestling off the ground. Unable to secure a TV deal, he attempted to forge a working relationship with NJPW by helping bring their Wrestle Kingdom 9 event to US PPV, but that was the end of their dealings. In 2015, GFW taped 16 one-hour episodes of ‘Amped TV’ in Las Vegas, which still haven’t aired.

The promotion embarked upon a tour of minor league baseball grounds later than year, but struggled to sell even a fraction of the tickets, with photos of depressingly empty stadiums appearing all over social media.

By mid-2016, GFW existed in name alone, with their last solo event taking place that July. Earlier that year, Jarrett tried to con gullible fans out of their money with Global Force Gold - a poorly disguised pyramid scheme.

Now, Jarrett has not only snaked GFW back into the spotlight, but seemingly secured himself another major position of power in the business. His recent endeavours provide few reasons to be optimistic, and Anthem should be very, very wary.
