Part of producing compelling professional wrestling television is the introduction, and promotion, of new and interesting characters. While RAW has done a solid job in building up Braun Strowman, SmackDown's elevated numerous talents in many different divisions. RAW has been unable to hold a candle to SmackDown's character development.

AJ Styles, Jinder Mahal, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, The Miz & Maryse, Baron Corbin, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Heath Slater. These are just a few of the names that have won championships or were made into bigger stars than they were prior to the brand split and their days wrestling on RAW (if they got any Monday night TV time, that is).

When it comes to creating new stars, SmackDown knows no limits. The Women's division, the tag team division, the main event, and the Intercontinental (now United States Championship) scenes have all featured numerous, new superstars competing for (and winning) the titles.

This has made for a fresh-feeling show when compared to the same old stars featured in the same boring segments every Monday night.

A former stuntman for Paramount Pictures, Matt enjoys sports, water skiing, driving fast, the beach, professional wrestling, technology, and scotch. At the same time, whenever possible. Having attended many famous (and infamous) shows including WrestleMania XV, In Your House: Mind Games, and the 1995 King of the Ring, Matt has been a lifelong professional sports and wrestling fan. Matt's been mentioned in numerous wrestling podcasts including the Steve Austin Show: Unleashed, Talk Is Jericho, and Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard. As a former countywide performer, Matt has been referred to as Mr. 300 for his amazing accomplishments in the world of amateur bowling. He is also the only man on record to have pitched back-to-back no hitters in the Veterans Stadium Wiffle Ball League of 2003.
